Our story

Hi, I’m Brigid - the face behind the soap! Like many business ideas, Three Boys Laughing was born out of necessity. When my boys were babies, many products irritated their skin and I became keenly interested in reading labels and trying to make sense of the ingredients listed. The more I researched, the more I realised that even those products marketed specifically as ‘safe’, ‘natural’ or ‘just for kids’, contained a myriad of synthetic ingredients.

And so began my foray into soapmaking! I immediately fell in love with the process and ability to make something as humble as a bar of soap into something so luxurious and nourishing.

From there, the expansion into other bath and shower products came naturally. I am always keen to add to my range - ensuring that everything remains as nature intended and free from synthetic frangrances, colours and preservatives.

Made the way nature intended

Each bar of soap, bag of salts, balm or steamer is made from start to finish by me - on my family’s property in the small, Western Queensland town of Blackall. My products are made with many ingredients you can find at your local supermarket. You won’t find any synthetic ingredients or additives in a Three Boys Laughing product; just natural colours from clays, vegetables or spices and scents achieved with only essential oils.

When you buy a product from Three Boys Laughing, you are supporting a local, family business who in turn, supports other local, family businesses. The ripple effect of buying Australian made cannot be underestimated.

I value supporting other Australian businesses, and that’s why I use Australian owned and grown wherever possible.

I stand by the no-waste principles instilled in me by my parents and grandparents, and take pride in choosing the best options possible for production and packaging to minimise wastage and environmental impact. Much of my packaging for orders sent out to you, is reused from what I have received. So if your order comes with plastic packaging, know that I have tried to extend its use and avoid more single-use items!
